Introduction
Since I was about fifteen, I love to take pictures. The first real camara I bought
was an Afgamatic 2000 with 110 film. I made a lot of pictures with that one and learned a lot.
I still have that nice little camera but don't use it anymore.

Later I bought a Ricoh KR5 and a zoomlens so I could do and learn a lot more. I took
this camera on my trips to South Africa and made some very nice safari pictures.
Then the digital camera's came and to see what is was and gain some experience with
it, I bought a cheap and simple digital camera, a Trust 820 LCD PowerC@m. Basicly a
two megapixel camera, enhanced to four megapixel.
One of the things I learned with this camera is that a cheap digital camera with a
plastic lens makes cheap pictures so then I bought a Minolta DiMAGE Z10.
|
A very nice camera with 8x optical zoom with a good quality lens. This is the camera that I used on my trip to the NorthCape.
Now I had some experience with digital photography and I wanted some better equipment
so I replaced the Trust with a Kodak Easyshare C653 as a pocket camera and I bought
a Nikon D-SLR as a replacement for the Minolta.
|
After I finished my "Professional Photography" course, I wanted a more professional
camera so I bought the Fujifilm S5Pro. This is essentially a Nikon D200 body with
Fujifilm electronics inside and the Fuji Super CCD SR Pro. A very nice camera that
is compatible with all my Nikon equipment.
|
Then I bought a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 lens that is very nice to use. Normaly when I doing
an article for RegioActueel.nl, I take the Fuji S5 with the 70-200mm and the Nikon D70s
with a 15-55 mm VR lens. A very usable combination.
I also upgraded from the Kodak Easyshare to an even smaller Nikon S210 compact camera
that I got as a present from Vincent and Sascha.
After I used the Nikon S210 for a long time, it is a little worn out because I use it
almost daily so it's time for a new compact camera. After looking in a lot of shops
and on the internet, I decide for a Nikon S3000.
|
One good reason is that is uses the same battery as the S210 so I have a spare original
Nikon battery. It came in a box with a 4Gb Nikon SD card and a carry case that fits
on my belt.
It has a 4x optical zoom NIKKOR lens with 27-135mm coverage

|
(35mm format equivalent). It has 12 Megapixel and vibration reduction. It's a nice little camera
for all day use.

With RegioActueel.nl, we try to put more video in our reports but the video quality of
the S3000 is not good enough for publication and I don't want to carry a big proffesional
video camera all the time so I bought a Nikon D300s.
It has the same look and feel as the Fuji S5 Pro. It has a 12 Megapixel sensor and it is
a lot faster then the Fuji. I already made some video's with it and I am very happy
with the quality.
I also bought an SB900 flash so if I do a report with two cameras, I can have a good
external flash on both cameras.
The Nikon D70 is retired now. I have it as a spare camera and I use it on holiday trips.
